Round 1 Mid-Release Decisions
As you may be aware, yesterday (November 18) we released many decisions to those applicants who were not offered an interview (and thus admissions) to Wharton. It is always a tough task to deliver bad news, and using the internet to do so, while more efficient (more timely etc.) it can certainly also provide a medium for those who receive the bad news to respond. It is often surprising however to see the response of those who are not admitted at this time (this thread on student 2 student is an example) and we do sincerely wish those who were not successful success with the remainder of the application process, and perhaps with Wharton in a subsequent year.
The issues highlighted by the original poster in the above thread were also covered, in part, in the following blog entry:
It is also important to note there is a learning curve associated with developing a strong application, so while applicants will tend to prioritize their applications and use that order of priority as the order of submissions, it is seldom the case that the first application you submit is your best application.
