Microfinance & the Environment

For many individuals, business schools are equated with finance, consulting, and the quintessential pursuit of profit. What is less well known is the growing intersection between business and social impact management. One striking example is this weekend's conference on Microfinance and the Environment, presented by the Wharton Environmental Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
The conference will focus on specific issues in strategic environmental management, sustainable business practices, and corporate social responsibility. Environmental issues, once considered the domain of activists and environmentalists, are moving to the forefront in business practices and planning.
