Emily Cieri, Managing Director of Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs (WEP), will be the host for our weekly chat on 17 December, 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).  Be sure not to miss this rare opportunity to ask questions about Wharton resources for aspiring/active entrepreneurs!  Emily joined us last year for what turned out to be one of the most popular chats of the season.

      

Emily oversees WEP’s research, teaching and outreach activities.  WEP includes the MBA major in entrepreneurship, the Wharton Business Plan Competition, Venture Initiation Program, Entrepreneur in Residence Program, Wharton Small Business Development Center and WEP’s new program of Internships at Start-ups

Join guest hosts Marcy Bevan and Nellie Kanjo, admissions staff at the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management & International Studies to learn more about the program.  Lauder combines a world-renowned Wharton MBA, a Master’s in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts & Sciences, and customized language training in one of eight languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. It's a program that is geared to prepare you for the world of global business. It’s for those who speak a second language and want to learn the art of communicating and conducting business in that language. It’s for those with a passion for understanding cultural diversity and interests that go beyond business.

In Lauder admissions, Marcy and Nellie recruit prospective students for the University at various events throughout the country; advise students of admissions requirements, programs of study, campus visits, financial aid, and residence life. Marcy has been at the Lauder Institute since 1986, when the first class graduated!

Due to the effects of Hurricane Ike on the City of Houston, the FORTE Foundation Fair (originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 17) has been cancelled. Explore Wharton: Diversity in Action 2008

The registration for Explore Wharton on September 25 & 26, 2008 is now open.  Please visit  <http://clubs.wharton.upenn.edu/proday/index.html>  to register. 


Explore Wharton: Diversity in Action is an opportunity for candidates from diverse backgrounds to visit the Wharton campus, network with current students, attend classes, receive helpful information about the admissions process, and experience the uniquely collaborative Wharton environment.  The two-day event is hosted through a partnership between the Wharton African American MBA Association (AAMBAA), the Wharton Hispanic American MBA Association (WHAMBAA), Wharton's Out for Business (Out4Biz), Wharton Women in Business (WWIB) and the MBA Admissions and Financial Aid Office.

Meet an Admissions Officer and Local Alumni in Your City

We are pleased to announce that Wharton will be holding events in over 45 countries this fall to meet with prospectives.  Many of our US events and international events are now posted online; we will be adding more events, as well.

At our presentations, prospective applicants will have the opportunity to hear an overview of our program from an admissions officer and meet local alumni, who will describe their experience at the School and the value of the degree, long-term. 

We will also be participating in other business school admissions events in cities around the world, including the MBA Tour, the MBA World Tour (TopMBA) and Forte Foundation events, among other organizations.

We encourage you to register for an event in your city-- it's a fantastic way to learn about whether an MBA, and a Wharton MBA, is right for you.

Wharton to Host Its First Admissions Reception in Cape Town, South Africa

Wharton is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our first admissions reception in Cape Town this year, on 27 June at the Table Bay Hotel on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.  To register, click here or visit our events page
